Course Objectives At the end of this course; the students are expected to explain the epidemiology of life style behaviours and their importance on prevention of the diseases and health promotion, assess economical, social, physical risk factors for life style behaviours, discuss the ways to improve life style behaviours at individual, group or community level, discuss the ways to improve life style behaviours of school children and elderly people, explain the functions of health directorates in Turkey health system.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • 1. Explain the prevalance of social media and gaming addiction according to age, gender, social class.
  • 2. Explain the epidemiology of life style behaviours (nutrition, physical activity, sleep, well being, sexual health, addiction) and their importance on prevention of the diseases and health promotion.
  • 3. Assess the life style (diet, PA, sleep, wellbeing, sexual health) at individual level taking history, applying scales or taking measurements and assess economical, social, physical (eg recreational areas, accident risks in homes or workplaces) risk factors.
  • 4. Collect and summarize data using tables and graphs in order to assess the life style behaviours of a group of people.
  • 5. Discuss the ways to increase the heathy nutrition habits and physical activity level at community level.
  • 6. Discuss the ways for tobacco control at community level.
  • 7. Discuss the role of national health policy and social determinants of health on improving healthy life style behaviour of the nation.
  • 8. Assess economical, social, physical (eg recreational areas, accident risks in homes or workplaces) risk factors for life style behaviours such as nutrition, PA, sleep, wellbeing, sexual health.
  • 9. Define demographic transition and population politics and its health and social consequences
Course Description In this course the epidemiology of life style behaviours and their importance on prevention of the diseases and health promotion economical, social, physical risk factors for life style behaviours, the ways to improve life style behaviours, the ways to improve life style behaviours of school children and elderly people, the functions of health directorates in Turkey health system and the ways of seeing through different works of art in order to detect the details and improve empathy. will be addressed
